He's On The Move!

Last night Caden took his very first steps and we are so proud. It's funny how you think people are being silly when they are so ecstatic about their baby's accomplishments, but then you become a parent and suddenly it all makes sense. We were thrilled that he finally took those steps before his first birthday and now I totally understand why people get SO overwhelmed with excitement about their little ones' "poo-poo in the potty" (I'm sure that post will come someday too). We had been trying for a couple of days to get him to let go of our hands and walk but he would only take 1 or 2 steps and then fall face first. Once he started taking 3 steps at a time I decided it was time to record - but to my astonishment, as soon as that red light turned on he took about 15 steps and even took a little pause to wave at the camera! It's fantastic! :)

Aside from that fantastic news, I also wanted to post the last of our New York videos. The videos from day 1 and 2 of our trip can be seen on the last post if you scroll down the page. Our 3rd and final day in NY is masterfully documented by wonderful husband in the video below. Enjoy!

New York, New York

Cory and I just got back from a 4 day trip to New York. This trip served a few purposes... 1) Cory HAD to attend a game at Yankee stadium before it was torn down. 2) A celebration of our 5 year anniversary (whew.) and... 3) Mommy's first nights away from baby Caden. The trip was fantastic and we squeezed a lot into a very short trip. We saw 2 Yankee games (one really great one against the Red Sox), Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Times Square (we saw a lot of that since that's where our hotel was located), the Empire State Building, Ground Zero (twin towers site), MOMA (the museum of modern art - only the lobby since they are convieniently closed on Tuesdays... whatever.), Rockerfeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and a lot of taxi cabs, hot dog stands, and subway stations. It was busy, smelly, crowded and totally awesome! We loved it. Although leaving Caden at home was VERY diffcult, once we got on the plane it was great... and it was nice to know that Gramma Donna and Cousin Carlie were at home taking good care of him.

Cory made some videos to document our trip... they are pretty entertaining (especially Cory's commentary so make sure your volume is turned up... and don't stop at the first one, the second video is the real prize.) :)

My Silly Boy

Caden is 11 months old now and we are approaching his 1 year birthday very quickly. It is crazy to think that our little baby man is not going to be a baby much longer. He looks like a little boy now and is starting to do some very silly things. Cory caught him on video last week playing peek-a-boo behind the curtains. It is hilarious and I think having that video to watch was the only thing keeping me from going insane without my baby in New York. Here is the link to the video... I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
